Bulk conversion by bank

Bulk convert Up Bank statements to CSV

Up's app makes scrolling back through history easy. Exporting a year of it at once is a different problem.

A year of Up statements in two batches

An Up statement PDF covers one month, and the app doesn't offer a way to export a year of them in one action. Scrolling the in-app history is fine for checking a single transaction. It's not built for pulling twelve months of Spend and Save activity into something a spreadsheet or accounting package can read.

Batch conversion takes ten of those PDFs in one run. Set the bank to Up, apply it across every file, and the batch gets parsed in parallel and returned as a single merged CSV with every transaction in date order. A calendar year of one account is two batches.

Round-ups are the detail that trips up a converter not built for Up specifically. Round-up transfers and the automated moves Up makes into a linked Saver aren't purchases, and a parser that doesn't recognise them ends up categorising a $0.40 round-up the same way it would a coffee. Here they're treated as transfers, which keeps the merged file's spending categories meaningful rather than inflated by internal account movements.

Spend and Save statements convert in the same batch, Maxi and 2Up joint accounts included, so a full picture of linked accounts comes back as one file rather than several that need reassembling. Select the wrong bank for a file and it fails cleanly with a named error rather than an empty result, with no credit charged for the failure.

Frequently asked questions

Which Up accounts are supported?

Spend and Save transaction and savings accounts, Maxi savers, and 2Up joint accounts. Personal and joint statements both convert.

How do I download several statements from Up?

In the Up app, open an account, go to Statements, and download each period as a PDF. Up issues them one at a time, which is exactly the input batch mode expects.

Are round-ups and Saver transfers handled correctly?

Yes. Round-ups and automated transfers between a user's own linked accounts are treated as transfers rather than spending, so they don't get miscategorised as purchases in the merged file.

Can I mix Up statements with other banks in one batch?

Yes. Each file carries its own bank setting, so Up statements can sit alongside CommBank, Westpac, ANZ and the other supported banks in the same run.

How many credits will a year of statements use?

Credits are counted per page. A typical Up monthly statement is two to four pages, so a year of one account usually falls between 25 and 50 pages.
