Bulk statement conversion for bookkeepers
Multiple clients, multiple banks, multiple months. The conversion step shouldn't be the bottleneck.
Conversion at practice volume
Bookkeeping volume behaves differently to personal volume. It isn't one person's year of statements. It's several clients, each with their own bank, each a few months behind, all arriving in whatever format they happened to download. The conversion work repeats, and it scales with the client list.
Batch conversion takes ten statements at a time, and each file carries its own bank setting. A batch doesn't have to be uniform. A CommBank business account, two Westpac statements and an ANZ credit card can all go through together. What comes back is either one merged CSV in date order or a ZIP of individual files, depending on how the job is structured.
For most practice work, one batch per client is the right unit. You get one merged CSV per client, which maps to how the file actually gets prepared and saves you splitting a combined export afterwards.
Saved category rules are where the time compounds. Correct a category once, save it as a rule, and that merchant is categorised correctly in every conversion after it. Recurring suppliers, regular direct debits and payroll entries stop needing attention after the first pass. Across a client list, that's the difference between a tool that gets faster the more you use it and one that stays exactly as slow as it was on day one.
We don't keep client financial data. Statements are processed and gone from our end, which is the sort of thing you want to be able to tell a client when the data on those statements isn't yours. Your converted files stay on your own machine for 24 hours so you can re-download them or fix a category without spending credits twice, then they clear themselves automatically.

Frequently asked questions
Can one batch contain statements from different clients?
It can, though separate batches per client is usually cleaner. That way you get one merged CSV per client instead of a combined file you then have to split. Either way, each row carries a Source File column.
Can a batch mix different banks?
Yes. Each file in a batch has its own bank setting, so one batch can hold Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, ANZ, NAB and any other supported bank at the same time.
Do category corrections carry across jobs?
On Professional and Business plans you can save a rule so a given merchant is always categorised the same way. Rules apply to future conversions, so recurring suppliers stop needing manual correction after the first time.
How does pricing work for high volume?
Credits are per page and never expire. The 350 and 700 credit packs are one-off purchases that include batch conversion, and the Professional and Business plans include it as well. At practice volume the larger packs work out cheapest per page.
Is client data stored anywhere?
Not on our servers. Statements are processed and gone, and we never hold onto client financial data. Converted files stay on the machine you converted them on for 24 hours, so you can re-download or re-categorise without converting again, then they clear themselves. Nothing syncs anywhere else.
