Converting by volume
Convert 12 months of bank statements to CSV
A year of statements is two batches and a few minutes, not an afternoon of copy and paste.
What a year of statements actually involves
Twelve statements is roughly where doing it by hand stops making sense. One you can retype. Three you can put up with. Twelve means opening a PDF, selecting a table that doesn't want to be selected, pasting it somewhere, noticing the dates have gone American, and then doing that eleven more times.
The reasons people need a full year are almost always deadline-shaped. A tax return. An overdue BAS. A loan application. Books nobody has touched since the last financial year. The statements are never the point, and every hour spent converting them is an hour not spent on the thing that actually matters.
Batch conversion handles ten statements at a time, so a calendar year is two runs. Set the bank once, apply it to every file, convert, then download one merged CSV with every transaction from every statement in date order. Each row carries a Source File column, so when a number needs checking you can trace it back without guessing.
What you get is a clean spreadsheet with date, description, debit, credit and category columns. It opens in Excel or Google Sheets as-is, and imports into Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks without reformatting.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a full year in one go?
Batch mode takes up to 10 statements at a time, so twelve monthly statements is two batches. Run the first ten, then the remaining two, and download a merged CSV from each. There's no cap on how many batches you run.
Will the transactions be in date order?
Yes. The merged CSV sorts every transaction across every statement chronologically, whatever order you uploaded the files in.
How many credits does a year of statements use?
Credits are counted per page rather than per statement. A typical monthly personal statement runs two to four pages, so a year of one account usually lands somewhere between 25 and 50 pages.
Can I convert statements from more than one account?
Yes. A batch can mix accounts and banks. The merged CSV includes a Source File column so every row traces back to the statement it came from.
What if some statements are missing?
Convert what you have. Gaps don't affect the conversion. You can run another batch later and combine the results in a spreadsheet, or just re-run the whole set once the missing statements turn up.
