AussieBankStatements vs DocuClipper for Xero
Checked against published product documentation on 12 September 2026.
Which should you choose?
For a supported Australian bank, choose AussieBankStatements when accuracy and privacy matter most. It is built exclusively for Australian statements, uses an individual parser for each bank, and never stores the original PDF or sends it to an AI model. Choose DocuClipper when you need broad international coverage, OCR for varied documents, direct accounting integrations, team features or enterprise security controls.

The accuracy difference
AussieBankStatements is built to be the most accurate converter for the Australian banks it supports. That claim comes from focus, not from pretending to cover every statement format. Each bank gets an individual parser, refined as real layout differences and edge cases are found. Statement structure, running balances and totals are checked where the source format allows it, and a result that does not reconcile can be rejected instead of presented as a convincing spreadsheet.
DocuClipper says it uses format-agnostic AI and OCR across English-language statements. That breadth is genuinely useful when a bank is not supported by AussieBankStatements. For the supported Australian banks, the dedicated parser approach is designed to recognise the details and failures that a worldwide model has to generalise across. No independent head-to-head benchmark currently covers every Australian layout, so the comparison is about the documented methods rather than a made-up percentage.
The privacy difference
AussieBankStatements does not send the statement to an AI model. The source PDF is processed in memory and deleted immediately. It is never stored. The converted result and conversion history remain available for 24 hours so you can review categories or download again, then they are removed automatically.
DocuClipper says documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, are not used to train AI models, and are not sold. It also says jobs stay in an active account, while its pricing page lists plan-specific retention periods starting at 30 days. That is a legitimate security model, but it is fundamentally different from never storing the original statement.

Questions people ask
Is AussieBankStatements more accurate than DocuClipper?
AussieBankStatements is built to be the more accurate choice for the Australian banks it supports, using dedicated bank-specific parsers instead of a general international extraction model. There is no independent head-to-head benchmark across every Australian layout, so we explain the methods rather than inventing a comparison percentage.
Does DocuClipper use customer documents to train AI?
DocuClipper says it does not use customer financial documents to train AI models. It still describes its extraction product as AI and OCR-based, which is different from AussieBankStatements' no-AI parser approach.
Which tool is better for an accounting firm?
DocuClipper has broader team, integration and enterprise features. AussieBankStatements is the simpler fit when the job is converting supported Australian bank PDFs privately into checked CSV data.
